Cowboys' Big Free Agency Miss Stings Even More After Week 4 Performance
The Dallas Cowboys are 2-2 after they beat the New York Giants on Thursday night Football. Despite picking up the win, some bad news came out.
Both Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence suffered injuries and will miss some time. In addition to their own losses, after watching the rest of the games on Sunday, the Cowboys couldn't be thrilled.
Especially since a big-time free agent miss dominated once again in Week 4.
Derrick Henry Went off Again in Week 4
On Sunday night, long-time Cowboys reporter Ed Werder tweeted that Dallas will regret not adding Derrick Henry to the list of illustrious running backs who played for the Cowboys. And he's right.
During free agency, Henry expressed his desire to join the Cowboys. He lives in Dallas during the offseason and would have loved to join the squad. But instead, Dallas wanted to go in a different direction.
Owner Jerry Jones said the team couldn't afford him and was out of their range. But Henry's deal wasn't earth-shattering.
He signed with the Baltimore Ravens on a two-year, $16 million deal with $9 million guaranteed. And the Cowboys should have found a way to get him into the building.
Through four weeks, the 30-year-old leads the NFL in rushing yards (480) and rushing touchdowns (5). He's now rushed for 150-plus yards in back-to-back weeks. To put that into perspective, the Cowboys have 301 total rushing yards as a team with two touchdowns.
No matter what Jerry Jones and company say, this hurts and has to sting.
