The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders have long been a fascination, not only among sports fans but among a wider US audience as well. Perhaps the most prestigious cheer team in the country, Cowboys cheerleaders have long prided themselves on being the best of the best of the best in the industry. The difficulty of making the team has been documented in the long-running Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team on Paramount cable network CMT.

Now that the show ended in 2022 after 16 seasons, Cowboys cheerleaders are coming back with an unscripted series, this time on Netflix. Unlike the previous show, this one, titled America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, will be more about the behind-the-scenes of the team. It will chronicle the 2023-24 season for the cheerleaders in seven episodes.

Cowboys Cheerleaders Are Getting A Netflix Show

According to Netflix's description of the show, the series will "document the personal stories behind the uniforms" as it kicks off at auditions and training camp, while continuing all the way through the NFL season.

The show will be produced by the team behind Cheer and Last Chance U and directed by Greg Whiteley.

"The kind of access and creative freedom we need to make the kind of work we want to make is not easy to come by—especially when dealing with a brand as large as the Dallas Cowboys."

Director Greg Whiteley

The series will debut on Netflix this summer when the Dallas Cowboys and the cheerleaders will be preparing for the 2024-25 season. We will be counting down the days until the NFL season starts, so it will be nice to still get our Cowboys content and look at a different aspect of the organization.
