This offseason for the Dallas Cowboys has been full of drama, especially on the contract front. A number of the team's stars are looking for new deals that are worthy of their talent, including star EDGE Micah Parsons.

The Penn State alum has been absent from Dallas' OTAs to this point, which some have taken as a message to management while he looks for his first lucrative pay day.

Now heading into the second week of workouts, the Cowboys have received some huge news regarding Parsons.

Wednesday morning, multiple Cowboys beat reporters revealed Parsons is attending the team's second phases of OTAs. Clarence Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram even added that Parsons says his absence was not contract-related, which puts that narrative to rest.

""Parsons also made it clear to the Star-Telegram that his absence for offseason program and OTAs had nothing to do with any unhappiness with his contract or role with the team.""

This is a very positive development for Dallas. While Parsons has been training nearby this offseason, his presence adds extra weight to these offseason workouts. After all, he's one of this team's driving forces, so newcomers and young players alike can't slack off if he's setting the tone.

It's great to have a leader like Parsons around as well while the Cowboys deal with a ton of uncertainty throughout the organization. He's the type of talent players and even coaches who are uneasy right now can lean upon to either set an example or push lesser guys on the roster ahead of training camp.

Now Dallas will await fellow absent star CeeDee Lamb's arrival, but he likely won't be around anytime soon as he seeks his own big-money extension. Considering the market for top-end wide receivers, there is no benefit to Lamb to take the field before a long-term deal is signed.
