It's safe to say that Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy will be under the microscope throughout the 2024 NFL season. While the former Super Bowl-winning coach has led America's Team to three straight 12-win seasons, a 1-3 playoff record during that stretch has him on the hot seat heading into the final year of his contract.

McCarthy's coaching staff underwent some changes this offseason, including the hiring of Mike Zimmer, who is replacing Dan Quinn as the defensive coordinator. Fast forward to Tuesday and we officially know the complete details of McCarthy's 2024 staff.

Cowboys News: Dallas 2024 Coaching Staff Revealed

While fans had a good idea of who was on the Cowboys' 2024 staff, Tuesday's announcement featured a pair of promotions. Al Harris has been promoted to assistant head coach on top of managing the defensive backs while Robert Prince was named the new pass game coordinator.

Harris, a former All-Pro cornerback, is more than deserving of his promotion. After spending the majority of his coaching career with the Kansas City Chiefs, the ex-Texas A&M-Kingsville product joined McCarthy's coaching staff when he arrived in Dallas in 2020. He's had a positive impact on the secondary thus far, proven by the Cowboys finishing 11th or better in terms of passing yards against in three of the last four seasons.

As for Prince, the 58-year-old has over 35 years of coaching experience under his belt. The Okinawa, Japan native began as a graduate assistant with Humboldt State in 1989 and spent the next 15 years with various college programs before joining the Atlanta Falcons as an offensive assistant in 2004. He spent nearly two decades bouncing around NFL and NCAA teams before signing with the Cowboys as the wide receiver coach in 2022.

All you have to do is look at CeeDee Lamb's stats since Prince joined the staff to understand why the latter also deserves his promotion. After all, Lamb's 242 receptions, 3,108 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns rank first, second, and second in the NFL over the last two seasons.

Time will tell if Harris and Prince's promotions help America's Team end the near-30-year championship drought. As it stands, the Cowboys are tied for the seventh-best Super Bowl 59 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook.
