The Dallas Cowboys have had a lackluster offseason in terms of improving the roster. After getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs, they decided not to make any major additions to better the team.

They watched as starters like Tyron Smith and Tony Pollard left town in free agency. Dallas decided to re-sign Ezekiel Elliott to become their workhorse heading into 2024 but that is risky.

Elliott has looked like a shell of himself over the past few years but his reunion brings some joy to the fanbase.

Despite the happiness of Zeke being in a Cowboys jersey again, they need more juice in the backfield and the perfect workhorse may be available.

Denver running back Javonte Williams may be in trade talks this summer. The Broncos are heading into the first year of a rebuild and Williams will be fighting for a roster spot.

Back in 2021 as a rookie, Williams finished with 903 rushing yards, 316 receiving yards, and seven total touchdowns. He then tore his ACL and LCL in his second year and it has been an uphill climb for him since.

The Broncos drafted Audric Estime back in April while having Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine in the backfield.

With Williams also entering the final year of his deal, he is going to have to fight for a roster spot in Denver. This is the perfect opportunity for the Cowboys to jump in and trade for a new bell cow.

The North Carolina product is a dual-threat playmaker with good size who makes it hard to bring him down in open space.

In 2023, he logged 774 rushing yards, 228 receiving yards, and five total touchdowns.

Jerry Jones and company should seriously consider trading for Williams if the price is right. These are the kind of moves that can have a massive payoff during the season.
