Cowboys' Rival Get One Step Closer to Potential Mega Trade
We are finally getting close to the return of football! Training camp around the league kicks off this week as teams start prepping for the 2024 season. On July 24, rookies and veterans are required to report down to Oxnard, California for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys haven't done much this offseason in terms of improving the roster. They are rolling into the 2024 season with the same nucleus of players and are looking to earn their fourth straight 12-win campaign.
Meanwhile, around the league, there may be some movement for a massive trade and a foe in the NFC East could be ready to pounce.
NFL News: Brandon Aiyuk Officially Request Trade From San Francisco 49ers
According to Mike Garafolo, WR Brandon Aiyuk has requested a trade from the 49ers after multiple attempts to reach an extension.
This is great news for the Washington Commanders, who have caught the eye of Aiyuk.
The Commanders selected quarterback Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to lead the franchise. Aiyuk and Daniels were teammates together at Arizona State, where they built a terrific bond.
Aiyuk has expressed his desire to play with Daniels and went as far as studying Commanders' practice tape.
In addition to that, the Commanders currently have $37 million in cap space and could give Aiyuk the massive deal he wants.
San Francisco has told teams they are not interested in trading away Aiyuk but things change quickly in the NFL. Washington is an inciting option for Aiyuk.
If he does get traded there, the Cowboys will have to deal with the 26-year-old twice a year, which wouldn't be the best thing to happen.
