After a long offseason and short preseason, real football is back. The Dallas Cowboys begin on the road again with their regular-season debut in Cleveland.

Last year, they embarrassed the New York Giants 40-0 in the opener. As exciting as that start was, the opponent this time around presents a much tougher task. Dallas will take on the Cleveland Browns in one of the most anticipated matchups of the week.

From there, the Cowboys have a couple of home games against the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. September is capped off with another road game with the New York Giants again hosting.

With all that being said, here are predictions for the first four weeks of the Cowboys’ season.

Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Cleveland Browns

Entering this game, the Browns are slight favorites but it’s hard to understand why. Dallas had the better team in 2023 and while they lost some key veterans, they did a solid job in the draft replacing them.

Tyler Guyton doesn’t have to be elite at left tackle, he just has to prevent Myles Garrett from ruining the game. Considering he held his own against Micah Parsons during training camp, there’s reason for hope. The same can’t be said for Cleveland, who might have Jack Conklin playing left tackle for the first time in seven years while facing Parsons.

The run game might be another concern but with Nick Chubb out, the Browns don’t have much to boast — even Jerome Ford’s impressive numbers are inflated by breakaway runs. As for the quarterback battle, anyone who prefers Deshaun Watson over Dak Prescott isn’t using logic. That’s why Dallas should be able to go 1-0 with a win here.

Prediction: Cowboys 31, Browns, 23
Cowboys Record: 1-0
