Cowboys Teasing Ezekiel Elliott Surprise for Return to Dallas on Sunday
There are plenty of pregame storylines following both the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots into their Week 4 matchup, but none is bigger than running back Ezekiel Elliott facing his former team.
The current Patriot and ex-Cowboy is set to play for the first time in Dallas since parting ways with the team this offseason, which is sure to drum up plenty of emotions. While Elliott could be bitter over the situation, he's been nothing but class in the lead up to kickoff.
As Elliott prepares for his return, it turns out the Cowboys' organization is planning a way to honor him.
It sounds like the Cowboys will do something to honor Ezekiel Elliott before Sunday's game at AT&T Stadium. When asked about it, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan declined to comment, saying, "I don't want to blow a surprise."

Jerry Jones spoke with 1053 The Fan on Wednesday about his team's upcoming matchup with New England. Elliott's return was a focal point of the conversation, and when asked if there'll be any pregame festivities to celebrate him, Jones said, "I don't want to blow a surprise."
Obviously, Jerry is up to something. And he should be. Elliott's importance to Dallas over his first seven seasons in the league cannot be overstated. He literally carried this squad to wins at times, and did so while having some of the highest usage in the entire NFL.
Elliott's workhorse role in his early years unsurprisingly has led to a bit of a slowdown in the latter stage of his career, but he still managed to rumble for 12 touchdowns in Dallas last year.
Now Elliott returns a member of the Patriots, who have some positive momentum after getting their first win of the season. The veteran RB played a big role in that, enjoying his best game of 2023 with 80 yards on just 16 attempts. It's clear he still has some juice left in the tank, so Dallas must focus on keeping him contained or risk another upset.
