Ever since Sam Williams suffered a torn ACL in training camp on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys have been looking for defensive ends to bolster their rotation. In his third year as a Cowboy, Williams was slated to play a large role in Mike Zimmer's defense. Now that he is out for the season, Dallas had to bring in reinforcements to fill those defensive snaps.

With that objective in mind, Dallas has been working out veteran pass rushers throughout the week. The Cowboys are expected to finalize two signings according to Cowboys reporter Nick Harris. One of the names will make Micah Parsons particularly happy.

The Cowboys are reportedly signing Shaka Toney and Al-Quadin Muhammad after working them out in Oxnard on Thursday.

Muhammad was a sixth-round pick by the Saints in the 2017 NFL Draft and has 84 games and 34 starts under his belt. The 29-year-old most recently started in 9 games for the Bears in 2022 before spending all of 2023 on the Colts practice squad. He will miss one regular season game because he has a game remaining on his suspension due to the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Shaka Toney has less NFL experience as he was a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent the first three years of his career in Washington, where he played under Cowboys defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina.

Toney is also reuniting with his Penn State teammate Micah Parsons. The two defenders played together between 2018 and 2020. He was suspended for the 2023 season because he violated the league's gambling policy.

Dallas lost Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler this offseason. With Williams also out of the picture, the Cowboys are severely lacking in defensive end depth. Mike Zimmer will hope that one of the new additions will step up and provide solid production behind Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.
