The Cowboys were one of the most talked-about teams in Week 1 and rightfully so. They put on one of the most dominant performances in franchise history, cruising to a 40-0 blowout win over the rival Giants while bracing the conditions at MetLife Stadium.

With the epic season-opening showing in the rearview, the Cowboys continue their campaign with a matchup against the New York Jets at AT&T Stadium. Here's a look at the opening Cowboys vs. Jets odds ahead of the Week 2 showdown.

Cowboys vs. Jets Week 2 Opening Odds

Before the 2023 NFL season began, fans on both sides would've seen this game as a potential Super Bowl LVIII preview. Instead, the Cowboys are lopsided favorites at home following the news of Jets QB Aaron Rodgers' season-ending Achilles tear.

In just four plays, Rodgers went from the hero bringing respect to the Jets to one of the biggest opening week tragedies in NFL history. While New York ultimately went on to beat the Buffalo Bills 22-16 in overtime, there's no doubt that the team's outlook took a major hit.

The Jets now have to go from a four-time NFL MVP under center to Zach Wilson. Even though he led New York to victory, Wilson looked far from amazing despite the talent surrounding him, going 14-of-21 in the pocket for just 140 yards with one touchdown and an interception.

The third-year signal-caller now has the misfortune of facing off against our elite defense. The Cowboys just held Daniel Jones to a 53.6% completion percentage and a 32.4 passer rating while sacking him seven times for a loss of 47 yards.

Although Jones is far from the league's best passer, he's better than Wilson, who's completed just 55.6% of passes with 19 INTs and 69 sacks in 23 career games (22 starts).

The Cowboys' aerial assault didn't look great against the Giants, but that had a lot more to do with the weather than anything. I'm fully confident that Dak Prescott will rebound this week at AT&T Stadium, where he's racked up over 5,700 passing yards, 47 TDs (to 13 INTs), and a 105.9 passer rating in his last 21 home games.

Will the Cowboys steamroll over the Jets? Possibly, but at the same time it's important to remember that New York is still elite on defense and still beat the Bills without Rodgers. Still, Dallas looks stronger than it has been in recent years and I won't be shocked if America's Team prevails decisively.
