The Dallas Cowboys have continued to be a topic of discussion over the offseason. Their lack of moves and extensions has taken over the conversation surrounding the team.

The team has failed to extend Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb but the star WR was the only one who decided to holdout.

During his absence, Prescott has started to build a connection with another WR in the meantime.

Cowboys News: Dak Prescott's Relationship With A WR Continues To Grow

The Cowboys held OTAs from May 21-23 and May 29-31. Shortly after mandatory minicamp ran from June 4-6.

That is where Prescott's and Brandin Cooks' connection took another step. Some practices were open to the media and The Athletic's Jon Machota took note of something.

"The connection between Brandin Cooks and Dak Prescott stood out most. It was a solid rapport last year at this time, but it was obvious during OTAs and minicamp that the two now have a full year working together. They were on the same page in all drills, but it particularly stood out on some deep ball throws."

Cooks came over to Dallas via trade in 2023 and settled into the WR2 role, ranking third on the team in receiving yards (657) and second in receiving touchdowns (8).

With Lamb being away from the team, Cooks is taking advantage of the extra reps. The 30-year-old has produced at a high level in his career, notching more than 1,000 yards six times.

As he heads into his second year in the offense and Prescott at the helm, Cooks wants to take his game to another level in 2024.

We all know once Lamb returns, he's the de facto No. 1 WR but until then, Cooks is continuing to build his rapport with Prescott. And that is something that could help Dallas more down the line.
