The Dallas Cowboys have been constantly discussed since the end of last year. After a disappointing end to the 2023 season, the Cowboys underwent a bunch of changes on the roster and along the coaching staff.

Dallas saw a bunch of players leave town like Tyron Smith and Tony Pollard did in free agency but they weren't the only ones.

Dan Quinn decided to leave his position as defensive coordinator to become the head coach of the Washington Commanders. Not only did he leave for a division rival, but he also brought a few Cowboys with him.

Washington signed Tyler Biadasz, Noah Igbinoghene, Dante Fowler, and Dorance Armstrong in free agency. Quinn tried to bring another player with him but he wanted to stick with the Cowboys.

Cowboys News: Washington Commanders Tried to Sign Jourdan Lewis

Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com revealed in an article that the Cowboys had to convince Jourdan Lewis to stay in the Lone Star State, and it worked. He signed a one-year deal for $2.8 million and will be their nickel corner.

He's been with Dallas since being drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Lewis suited up in 16 games for the Cowboys, logging 52 total tackles, five pass deflections, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

A big reason Dallas wanted to retain Lewis is his ability to adapt to new schemes and still be effective. The hiring of Mike Zimmer as the team's new defensive coordinator is his fourth coordinator in eight seasons.

Regardless, Lewis ready to roll in 2024.

"There is definitely going to be a learning curve whenever you play for a new coordinator," he said. "But at the same time, we're professionals. That's our job to go out there and perform in any scheme that we're in."
