The Dallas Cowboys are having one of the most underwhelming free-agency periods of any team in the NFL. Cowboys fans are understandably frustrated with the organization and Jerry Jones, who promised a lot and delivered nothing this offseason.

Well, at least, they can find solace in the fact that their NFC East rivals are making equally questionable decisions in free agency.

The Philadelphia Eagles, still hurting from their epic collapse to end their 2023 campaign, are trying to turn their roster over for a fresh start. They already made one head-scratching decision to trade for Kenny Pickett as their backup QB and now they are bringing in another signal-caller: the former Dallas Cowboy Will Grier.

Eagles Sign Former Cowboys QB Will Grier

Grier was on the Dallas Cowboys when the new Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was here. The two have a ton of familiarity and he was probably signed to help with the transition to the new offensive scheme. Yet, he also hasn't played a snap in an NFL game since his rookie season in 2019.

However, bringing in a fourth quarterback behind Jalen Hurts, Pickett, and Tanner McKee reeks of desperation. It shows a lack of trust in the quarterback rotation, which was in much safer hands with Marcus Mariota as the backup QB.

The Eagles (+135) and the Cowboys (+115) are currently the favorites to win the NFC East next season. Despite the disappointing free agency, Dallas still has the edge on FanDuel Sportsbook.
