The Dallas Cowboys have been a topic of discussion throughout the offseason but for all the wrong reasons. Jerry Jones said his team would be 'all-in' this offseason but that was far from the truth.

The Cowboys' only meaningful free-agent addition was linebacker Eric Kendricks. In addition to the lack of signings, they have yet to extend Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons.

The bulk of their acquisitions this offseason came via the NFL Draft, with at least two of those players expected to play major roles this offseason.

With all that being said, a former Cowboy is on the open market and would be the perfect mentor for one of their rookies.

Cowboys News: Connor Williams Could Be The Perfect Mentor

ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed on June 18 that free agent center Connor Williams expects himself to be ready for the start of the regular season.

In 2023 with the Miami Dolphins, Williams suffered a significant ACL tear that caused some people within the national media to speculate if the injury was career-threatening.

Thankfully it wasn't, as he will be on the field this coming September. He is slated to pick a new team before training camp next month and the Cowboys would be a great fit.

Williams was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. The Texas product has great hand placement and understands leverage really well.

Dallas selected Cooper Beebe to be the new starting center after Tyler Biadasz left in free agency. It's widely assumed that Beebe will start immediately but Williams provides the perfect mentor.

Since he's coming off a major injury, he wouldn't cost much to bring to town. Meanwhile, he knows what it takes to play at a high level in the league while being on America's Team.

The ideal mentor fell into Dallas' lap. Let's see if Jerry Jones pounces on the opportunity.
