Ezekiel Elliott Turning Back the Clock With Play at Cowboys Camp
The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2024 season with massive expectations but that's not a surprise. They are America's Team and have Jerry Jones constantly making statements that take over news cycles.
That has been the case this offseason when Jones said the team would be 'all-in' but that certainly wasn't the case.
Dallas made a bunch of low-cost signings and one of those was bringing back running back Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys also added Royce Freeman and re-signed Rico Dowdle to round out their backfield.
It definitely looks like Elliott will be the No. 1 tailback in 2024 and he turned back the clock in a recent practice.
Cowboys News: Ezekiel Elliott Looked Good in Monday’s Practice
Elliott had a couple of nice runs where he exploded to the second level per Todd Archer of ESPN. He also added that the Cowboys are watching Elliott's snap count this summer as they want to keep him fresh.
The former Ohio State product doesn't have the same speed and burst that he once had but he can still show it in spurts. And that's what he did in Monday's practice.
The 29-year-old has a lot of mileage on his tires (2,065 carries, 8,904 rushing yards) but in a running back committee, Elliott is looking to turn back the clock during the 2024 season.
This is a positive report for the fanbase and Elliott as we are quickly approaching the 2024 season.
Zeke will hopefully find himself in the second level of the defense consistently and do his infamous eat celebration.
