The Dallas Cowboys have had their fair share of news throughout the offseason. When you're America's Team and have star players like CeeDee Lamb holding out, things like that are bound to happen.

The Cowboys have their own business to take care of but the latest reports reveal a former player has landed a workout with an NFC East foe.

NFL News: Martavis Bryant To Work Out for Washington Commanders

Per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, wide receiver Martavis Bryant will work out with the Washington Commanders on Tuesday. Bryant also worked out for Washington in May and clearly impressed the team enough for them to bring him back.

After being away from the NFL for multiple seasons after being suspended for various violations of the personal conduct policy, the Cowboys signed Bryant to the practice squad in 2023.

Before joining the Cowboys' practice squad, Bryant played in the XFL in 2023 with the Vegas Vipers, posting 14 receptions for 154 yards. He hasn't played an NFL snap since 2018 but still eyes a comeback.

When he was on the field, Bryant was an explosive deep threat who used his 6-foot-4 frame to shield off defenders. The Clemson product has 145 receptions, 2,183 receiving yards, and 17 touchdowns in his NFL career.

He has his work cut out for him though. The Commanders have a deep wide receiver room featuring Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, rookie Luke McCaffrey, and veterans Olamide Zaccheus and Jamison Crowder.

Even if the workout ends with a contract, he'll need to prove his worth over the next two preseason games and training camp.

The 32-year-old has the athletic profile to make his presence felt but needs to prove it on the gridiron. He didn't do that in Dallas but looks to do so in Washington.
