Everyone has their eyes on the Dallas Cowboys ahead of next week's trade deadline. While Jerry Jones has said he's not initiating trade calls, that doesn't mean he's not talking with teams about potential deals.

With the Cowboys looking to gear up for a playoff run, there are a few players the team may be willing to part with, either to acquire upgrades or simply to free up roster space. One ESPN insider has offered their prediction on the most likely Dallas player to be dealt by Halloween.

Cowboys Trade Rumors

Cowboys beat writer Todd Archer sees Neville Gallimore as on the chopping block ahead of Week 8. Archer points to Gallimore's impending free agency and his unlikeliness to net Dallas a compensatory pick, so cutting bait now could make a ton of sense.

Gallimore certainly has not worked out as hoped after getting taken by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite seeing a sizable role as a rookie, including 9 starts, the defensive tackle's production (0.5 sacks, 4 TFL) left a lot to be desired.

An elbow injury cost the Oklahoma product most of the 2021 campaign, while his 2022 performance (1.0 sacks, 33 tackles, 2 TFL) was lackluster despite suiting up in 16 contests. He's off to another sluggish start in 2023, posting 0 sacks and only 1 TFL over 6 appearances.

That being said, a rival franchise could talk themselves into taking a flyer on the defensive lineman. With just 5 combined starts since 2021, there's an argument that Gallimore could blossom with a bigger role in a new environment. At 6-foot-2 and 302 pounds, the Ontario native has the size to be a useful run-stopper in the middle.

Dallas getting a conditional late-round pick would be better than letting Gallimore walk away for nothing in 2024. Moving him would also open up more snaps for rookies Mazi Smith and Viliami Fehoko, the latter of whom hasn't appeared in a game yet this season.

Regardless of whether Gallimore gets dealt next week, you can still back the Cowboys this Sunday on BetMGM Sportsbook.
