The Dallas Cowboys have been extremely quiet this offseason. They weren't aggressive in adding talent in free agency after they lost key members on the team.

Their focus has been zeroed in on the NFL Draft as they look to add some young talent to the roster. In Round 1, Dallas selected Tyler Guyton, who will step in and be Tyron Smith's replacement in 2024.

With one major need addressed with their first selection, the Cowboys need to address running back. Owner Jerry Jones couldn't hold back his excitement on which running back Dallas wants to target.

Cowboys Rumors: Jerry Jones Highlights Which RB Prospect the Cowboys Love

In a press conference after Round 1, Jones talked about Texas' Jonathan Brooks and raved about him.

Jones said, "In my 30 years I thought it was the best interview that I ever interviewed with a player. He’s outstanding. And he’s a great football player. We got him high, high, high. And he’s a good player."

The Cowboys need to add a tailback after Tony Pollard left in free agency and they seemed to be honed in on Brooks.

His play on the field speaks for itself. The Texas native is a shifty athlete who owns great contact balance and vision. Brooks runs through arm tackles while snagging passes out of the backfield with ease.

Last season with Texas, he finished with 1,139 rushing yards, 286 receiving yards, and 11 total touchdowns.

But his presence off the field is what's putting him over the top on Dallas' draft board. The Cowboys own the 56th overall pick in the second round and there's a high probability that Brooks will be the selection if he's still on the board.
