The Dallas Cowboys came out of free agency with more questions than answers. Rather than filling the holes on their roster and upgrading their personnel, the Cowboys saw a number of key starters leave this offseason, creating a ton of uncertainty about the near future of the team.

One of the main aspects of this uncertainty is regarding the Cowboys stars who are in need of contract extensions. Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb are all up for extensions and Jerry Jones hasn't done anything to address it so far this offseason.

The latest reporting about Lamb points to a potentially challenging situation for the Cowboys. According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, a holdout is likely for the star wide receiver.

Cowboys News: Concerning CeeDee Lamb Contract Drama Looming

The Cowboys have their voluntary spring workouts starting on April 15. Without a contract extension that would surely make him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in NFL history, Lamb will reportedly not report to the team.

Participating in team activities isn't mandatory until the minicamp in June. Plenty of stars hold out if they are on the fifth-year option of their rookie contract. If this isn't resolved by June, then the real problems might start for the Cowboys. Missing practice for a significant period of time could impact the team chemistry and Lamb's performance to begin the next season.

Dallas can't afford that after they already had one of the most disappointing offseasons in recent memory. Lamb was a top-three wide receiver in the league last season, finishing with 135 catches, 1,749 yards, and 12 touchdowns. His rapport and connection with Prescott are undeniable.

The Cowboys would be fools to ruin that partnership with drawn-out contract negotiations.

Despite the disastrous offseason, the Cowboys are still one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl next season. At +1300 odds, they are only behind the 49ers, Chiefs, and Ravens on FanDuel Sportsbook. Head over there now to get in on the action and don't forget to claim your sign-up bonus.
