The Dallas Cowboys are 1-1 heading into the Week 3 contest against the Baltimore Ravens. Things didn't go according to plan in Week 2 as the Cowboys were blown out at home 44-19 to the New Orleans Saints.

Despite handing out massive extensions to both Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, the offense still needs some help in the backfield.

Through two games, the Cowboys are currently 25th in the NFL in rushing offense (85) and they watched as a former Pro Bowler tailback signed with an AFC contender.

NFL News: Kareem Hunt Signs With Kansas City Chiefs

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs are adding running back Kareem Hunt to the practice squad. The Chiefs were thin at tailback with Isiah Pacheco out for an extended period of time with a fractured fibula.

Hunt will have to work his way up to the active roster but he's someone the Cowboys should have inquired about over Dalvin Cook.

The Cowboys added Ezekiel Elliott this offseason to be the lead running back alongside Rico Dowdle. But through two games, neither guy has been that effective. Elliott and Dowdle both have 56 rushing yards and average less than 3 yards per rush.

Hunt is someone who could have paid dividends for the Cowboys. Last season with the Browns, he finished with 411 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. The 29-year-old still has some juice in the tank and has the talent to also be a viable pass catcher.

The Toledo product has 4,436 rushing yards, 1,890 receiving yards, and 57 total touchdowns in his career.
