The Dallas Cowboys offense will be tested this weekend when America's Team takes to the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. It's no secret that the Cowboys' attack has left much to be desired, though, considering how they went from averaging an NFL-leading 29.9 points per game in 2023 to 24.3 PPG (11th) this season.

One way that president and general manager Jerry Jones can get the offense back on track is by trading for another wide receiver before the Nov. 5 deadline. Outside of No. 1 wideout CeeDee Lamb's usual dominance and the occasional big play by Jalen Tolbert, the Cowboys' WR room's production has been lacking.

Fortunately, the perfect trade target just became available to give the Cowboys a boost. After all, Jones wants to go "all in," right?

Cowboys Should Trade for WR Davante Adams

Sports Illustrated's Michael Fabiano is reporting that the Las Vegas Raiders are open to trading superstar WR Davante Adams.

"Do not be surprised if Davante Adams has already played his last snap with the Raiders," Michael Fabiano said in a social media video on Monday. "The Raiders are looking to deal him because they think they can get some value. They know they're going nowhere this year."

Fabiano added that the Cowboys are a potential destination for Adams, however, their salary cap situation could make things tricky. Although the 31-year-old wideout's current salary cap hit sits at $25.3 million, per Spotrac, that number skyrockets to $44.1 million for the next two seasons.

For reference, the Cowboys are projected to have only $27 million in space next offseason.

Still, if Adams is available and Jones can make the finances work, adding a player of Adams' caliber is a no-brainer. The former Fresno State product has been one of the NFL's best receivers of the last decade, amassing nearly 11,000 receiving yards and 96 touchdowns through 153 career games played with the Raiders and Green Bay Packers. That's without mentioning his six Pro Bowls and three- All-Pro nods.

Adding Adams to a WR room that already features Lamb would give QB Dak Prescott one of the best 1-2 punches in the NFL today. We also know that Prescott can throw for over 4,000 passing yards in any given season, so evenly sharing opportunities between two elite wideouts shouldn't be an issue.

As the trade deadline looms, it's hard not to get excited about the impact Adams could have on the Cowboys' championship aspirations. For now, America's Team is tied for the ninth-best Super Bowl LIX odds (+2100) ahead of Week 5 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
