Looking back on the Dallas Cowboys' defeat on Christma Eve, a few plays stick out. Perhaps none was more frustrating than running back Tony Pollard's goal-line blunder, when he failed to get into the endzone despite having plenty of room to make a play.

As the Cowboys look to move on from that loss to the Miami Dolphins, Pollard has finally addressed this unfortunate moment.

Pollard was asked by reporters what he's said to fullback Hunter Luepke in the wake of the latter's fumble at the goal line on Sunday. The RB said he doesn't think Luepke is to blame since he should've scored on the previous play.

In fact, Pollard said he takes the blame for that unfortunate sequence in prime scoring poisition. He noted he was just trying to "get to the end zone [as] soon as possible," which is why he didn't run on the outside toward the pylon. If he converts there, Luepke is never on the hook for his fumble.

Of course, redzone exceution has been a pain point for this offense all season, and this pair of miscues just highlights the work Dallas still needs to improve in that area. Considering the Cowboys lost by just two points, missing out on a TD in this scenario stings mightily.

All the team can do now is learn and try to get better from this incident. They're still in the hunt for the division and NFC's No. 1 seed, so they can't afford to linger on what could've been in Miami.

Hopefully Pollard can redeem himself with a huge game against the 11-4 Detroit Lions, who visit on Saturday.
