The NFL season is quickly approaching with training camps kicking off around the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most discussed teams in all of sports and that hasn't changed this offseason.

After a disappointing ending to the 2023 season, the Cowboys failed to make any major additions to the team. They actually watched countless contributors like Tyron Smith, Tony Pollard, Stephon Gilmore, and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn leave town.

Jerry Jones and company failed to extend Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons. Now they will enter training camp on July 23 with a bunch of questions around the team and USA Today doesn't have high hopes for this group.

Cowboys News: USA Today Doesn’t Think Dallas Will Make the Playoffs

Nate Davis of USA Today wrote an article for 2024 record predictions. In his piece, Davis has the Cowboys finishing the 2024 campaign with an 8-9 record.

"To survive, they’ll likely need new (and former) coordinator Mike Zimmer to sustain what’s been an opportunistic defense and McCarthy to prove this offense is more than an aerial show while enduring a brutal four-game stretch following a Week 7 bye that includes three opponents that were 2023 playoff teams. Feels like too much to ask, especially given what could be lingering off-field distractions."

The Cowboys have a talented roster but they didn't do much in terms of improving the team. Jerry Jones said the team was going to be 'all-in' this offseason but that didn't happen.

Instead, they decided to rely on the draft and made low-cost free-agent signings in Ezekiel Elliot and Eric Kendricks.

There is a lot of pressure on Dallas stars like Prescott, Lamb, and Parsons but none of them received the massive paydays that they desire. Will that affect their play on the field? Can Mike McCarthy get them over the hump?

This all remains to be seen but the Cowboys have their work cut of them in 2024.
