We all make mistakes when we speak, especially when you're 81 years old like Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is.

Unfortunately for Jones, he made one at a really bad time on Sunday. His gaffe came when he was announcing Jimmy Johnson's induction into the Cowboys Ring of Honor on national TV before Dallas' Week 11 matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

Jimmy Johnson Ring of Honor

Jones told Johnson that he will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor on Dec. 30, 1923. Which is obviously impossible, of course, because that was 100 years ago!

The Dallas owner clearly meant to say 2023 and got his dates mixed up by a full century. Which begs the question, does Jones still think we're living in the 20th Century? Does he think it's 1923 right now? That wouldn't be surprising, as Jones is pretty ancient.

Jones wouldn't be the only Cowboys fan living in the past, either. After all, the team hasn't won a Super Bowl since 1996.

Johnson was quick to call out his former boss's mistake, reminding Jones that the year on the calendar starts with a 20 and not with a 19.

Regardless of Jones' epic brain fart, this honor is long overdue for Johnson. The former Cowboys head coach led the team to two Super Bowl titles during his five years at the helm from 1989-1993, leading the team to a 44-36 regular-season record during that span.

Dallas fans will want to mark their calendars for this special event, but just make sure you have the right year before doing so.
