Potential Cowboys Head Coach Trade Target Reportedly Off the Market
The Dallas Cowboys are one of six available head coaching vacancies right now. After missing the playoffs this season, the Cowboys and Mike McCarthy decided to head in opposite directions.
The Cowboys are seeking to bring in a new leader. The latest rumors have been around Deion Sanders and Jason Witten as two potential choices for them. While other candidates have emerged as well, one potential target is off the market.
On Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed that the Chicago Bears called the Pittsburgh Steelers to see if they could talk to Mike Tomlin and potentially trade for him. That didn't go anywhere, as Pittsburgh shut down that idea.

Schefter also added that the Bears weren't the only team that attempted to trade for Tomlin, only to be shut down. Tomlin reportedly responded to one team saying, "Save your time."
Tomlin has been with Pittsburgh for 18 years and hasn't missed the playoffs once. He is known for being one of the best leaders and coaches in the NFL. No matter what personalities or players are on the team, Tomlin gets the most out of them.
He would be the perfect hire at HC but that is off the cards. The Cowboys will have to look elsewhere to find their next coach. Sanders is someone who excites fans the most. His history with the organization and the job he's done at Colorado over the past two years have been stellar.
It's still early in their HC search but since they took a while to officially part ways with Mike McCarthy, they have to play catch up.
Dallas has talked to or will interview Kellen Moore, Leslie Frazier, and Robert Saleh. The list will likely grow over the next couple of days but Cowboy fans can cross Tomlin off the list.
