Rich Paul just opened up a can of worms with a Mavericks-LeBron James bombshell

Under Dallas Mavericks' new president, Masai Ujiri, he has cooked up signing Dusty May as head coach, drafting Morez Johnson Jr., and now, he has a chance to pull off his greatest move yet, or the most controversial one.

On "Game Over with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul," Paul dropped another bomb that Mavs fans have heard all too well at this point. Paul didn't count out the thought of LeBron James going to the Dallas Mavericks. Paul drew up "realistic" destinations on a whiteboard and told Kellerman that there's a clear attraction to Dallas.

"In Dallas, you got oil, you got golf...a lot comes with Dallas and Masai. "

With James leaving Los Angeles, it looks like Golden State and Cleveland are the frontrunners. The Mavs are more of a dark horse chance, but it took some guts for Paul to mention Dallas on his whiteboard.

This has been a thought for about three years now. As the James-Kyrie Irving reunion has been in talks for a while now, there hasn't been any real traction to make a move happen. Last summer, the James rumors gained some momentum, but it became annoying. Most of it was all talk and no action.

Despite rumors that Irving doesn't fit "Flagg's timeline," it looks like Irving is going to stay. May and Irving have been friendly to each other since May was hired as the Mavs head coach, and May has even been on record to say that he will turn to Irving a lot in his first year as an NBA head coach.

The Irving reunion is one story, but the Cooper Flagg mentorship is another storyline. Flagg and James have known each other for about five years, and it didn't take James long to see Flagg's elite game. They have similarities in history, too. Both players started their respective careers at 18 years old.

A lot of Flagg has been compared to James. Other than James' body weight at 250 pounds, Flagg's three-way level scoring and defense are eerily similar, and the two of them together could turn Dallas into a championship team.

James will be playing for an unprecedented 24th NBA season. He's on record saying that at his age, any back-to-back will be taken lightly. Honestly, he's right. At 41 years old, and soon to be 42 in December, he will need all the rest he can get.

It seems a lot of the players who come in don't mind no state income tax. That could play another role in James coming to Dallas.

The chances are unlikely, but it's a lot for James' agent to mention Dallas in the same sentence.
