The Dallas Cowboys could be zeroing in on their next head coach as they’ve held two long interviews with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
Schottenheimer has been with the Cowboys for the last three years as the offensive coordinator (two seasons) and a consultant (one season). Dallas fans aren’t super excited about the idea of Schottenheimer being the next head coach after Mike McCarthy, but the Cowboys’ brass can’t be picky as Mike Vrabel, Ben Johnson, and Aaron Glenn are all off the board.
That said, Schottenheimer hasn’t been officially announced as the next head coach in Dallas, so other potential candidates are still in the running – Kellen Moore, Robert Saleh, Leslie Frazier, and Pete Carroll.
However, an off-the-radar coaching candidate has shockingly emerged in the Cowboys’ search, which caught the attention of Dallas fans.
Cowboys News: Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia Emerges as Surprise HC Candidate
According to Joseph Hoyt of DLLS, Dallas has had some level of interest in Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia. Hoyt adds Bisaccia is another person the Joneses like, but not sure how far that interest could go.
Can confirm, via a source, that the Cowboys have had (emphasis there) some level of interest in Rich Bissaccia, who spent five seasons in Dallas as special teams coach (2013-17). Another person the Joneses like. Not sure how much far that interest could go, however. https://t.co/eElpEmGlVS

Josh Liles of ProFootballPost.com initially reported that the Cowboys are interested in Green Bay’s special teams coordinator.
It’s not shocking to see that the Cowboys have had some level of interest in Bisaccia, who spent five years in Dallas (2013-17) as their special teams coordinator as Hoyt highlights. That said, the latest reports out of Dallas seem to point to Schottenheimer getting the job.
Bisaccia wouldn’t move the needle with the Dallas fanbase despite coaching there and having a short stint as the interim head coach with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Also, Dallas hasn’t reportedly requested an interview with Bisaccia, who is still under contract with the Packers. Without an interview request, this report is just something for the fans to discuss.
