The Dallas Cowboys' 2024 season has been a complete disaster for the team and the fanbase. The Cowboys are 3-6 on the season and the campaign is up in flames after Dak Prescott went down with a season-ending hamstring injury.

While that is disappointing, the Cowboys' roster is filled with holes. One of those flaws is at running back, as they rank 31st in the league in rushing yards per game (83.7) with 3.8 yards per carry and three rushing scores.

With that being a glaring need, Cowboy fans won't like to hear what Jahmyr Gibbs had to say on Richard Sherman's podcast.

Cowboys Rumors: Jahmyr Gibbs Revealed Dallas Liked Him in 2023 NFL Draft

During his appearance on the podcast, Gibbs revealed that the Cowboys would have selected him if he fell to pick No. 26 in the 2023 NFL Draft.

"I knew for a fact that Dallas was gonna get me at 26 if I was still there."

While that sounded good in theory, the Cowboys were never going to get Gibbs at No. 26. First off, he ended up going No. 12 overall to the Detroit Lions. Gibbs also added that the Cincinnati Bengals would have traded up for him if he fell into the Pick 18 range.

Instead of being proactive and going after a dynamic playmaker, the Cowboys stood pat and selected Mazi Smith. He's played in 26 games with Dallas but has been a bust for them. He only has 34 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and one sack.

Meanwhile, Gibbs has compiled 1,672 rushing yards, 518 receiving yards, and 19 total touchdowns over the 24 games with Detroit.

This is another example of how the Cowboys refuse to be aggressive in adding talent. They are complacent and that never works out.
