Although Mike McCarthy led his team to an impressive upset win over his former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, this past weekend, it is no secret that McCarthy will no longer be at the helm for the Cowboys once this dreadful season eventually comes to an end.

While McCarthy has been cast as a scapegoat for this nightmare of a season for the Cowboys, he remains one of the more respected coaches in the league and will most likely be able to find himself another head coaching job this off-season.

With several teams throughout the league looking for a new identity and voice to lead their locker room, McCarthy, who has one of the most impressive resumes in the league, would be a perfect fit to lead numerous teams in the league. We have listed the three most realistic landing spots for McCarthy and why he would be a great fit.

3. New Orleans Saints

Similar to the Cowboys, the Saints have had a train wreck of a season. They currently sit near the bottom of the NFC South with an identical record to the Cowboys at, 4-7.

After a miserable seven-game losing streak, the Saints ownership decided to part ways with long-time member of the organization Dennis Allen, who had been serving as the Saints' head coach since Sean Payton departed from the team after the 2021 season.

The Saints have been less than desirable since the Sean Payton and Drew Brees era came to an end as they have not been able to make into the playoffs since then. While they currently have a team loaded with young talent they seem to lack any identity as a collective whole. McCarthy could be a great option to reinstall an identity into a team that has the potential to become eventual contenders in the NFC if they build a strong culture and add a few more pieces to their roster.

Overall, the Saints desperately need a new voice for the franchise, and McCarthy could be the perfect fit to help rebuild a promising young team and give him a chance for redemption after a miserable final year in Dallas.
