When a player plays in the NFL for more than 10 years, they learn their fair share about the game. But going into year 15, Von Miller has completely mastered it. He’s a future Hall of Famer whom the Dallas Cowboys love having on the team. Be the best teammate and play like you know how in a part-time role.

After all, Miller knows who he is and where he can make an impact at this point in his career. He’s not the player he once was, but the veteran shared during his opening press conference that he can make his presence felt in more ways than one with the Cowboys.

“You can say what you want to say about my play on the field and what I got left. But when it comes to being a great teammate, like if there was a Hall of Fame for that, I’m going in the Hall of Fame first ballot. To be honest, I’m probably the best teammate that ever played in the National Football League,” Miller told reporters.

Von Miller’s impact goes beyond the stat sheet

Well, don't speak too soon, Von. We saw what happened with Bill Belichick. Fortunately, no one has any politics against one of the best pass rushers, but he's right. He's been an incredible teammate over the years, and his numbers only add to his greatness.

Coming off a season in which he had nine sacks and 15 quarterback hits for the Washington Commanders, Miller is expected to make a difference on the field in Dallas. But even if he regresses, it sounds like he will be able to contribute by teaching others about the game.

“I can contribute 10-15 plays; that’s without even being on the field… Just by my knowledge of the game and getting everybody else to play at a level that they wouldn’t normally play at.”

Despite nine sacks last season, Miller started in only three games for Washington. As of now, most depth charts have him listed as the backup outside linebacker behind Donavan Ezeiruaku.

There are questions surrounding Sam Williams' remaining role following Miller’s signing, but a new one has arisen. How much will those 10-15 plays without being on the field impact the outcome of the game? After all, the Commanders were 5-12 last season.

But being a future HOFer, we’ll give Miller the benefit of the doubt for the time being. At the end of the day, he’s a great player and an exciting addition to this defense. Not to mention, he’s from Texas, and playing for the Cowboys has been a lifelong dream
