Blake Sims, Quarterback, Alabama
Although he only played one season at Alabama, Blake Sims showed some promise at times for the Crimson Tide in 2014. Sims is a good runner, as he shows the ability to evade pass rushers. He also is an anticipation-thrower, meaning that he can put the ball in a spot where his receiver will be running to.

However, he also showed the ability to have a ton of problems as well. He doesn’t have a good build and his arm and mechanics leave a lot to be desired. Despite these problems, Jon Machota of Dallas News reported less than two months ago that the Cowboys scheduled a visit with Blake Sims early in the pre-draft process.
Obviously, if the Cowboys signed Sims after the draft, he wouldn’t be competing with Tony Romo for the starting quarterback gig. Who he could compete with is Dustin Vaughan, an undrafted free the Cowboys signed last year, for the third-string quarterback role as well as a developmental player.
