Dallas Cowboys’ Cheat Sheet: Day Two
By Reid Hanson
Round one is in the books for the Cowboys and now it’s time to get up-to-speed for round two. The Dallas Cowboys’ Cheat Sheet: Day Two, is here to help!
Most of Cowboys Nation is pleased with the Cowboys’ first round selection of the uber-talented CB/FS from Connecticut, Byron Jones. Byron Jones wowed scouts with his record breaking performance at the combine and his extremely impressive interviews.
Ryan Ratty has been tracking Byron from the start and wrote up this bio and announcement the moment the pick was made: https://sportdfw.com/2015/04/30/dallas-cowboys-add-cbs-draft-byron-jones/
Reid Hanson followed up this morning explaining how Byron Jones fits with this defense, his position versatility, and what to expect from Byron this season:

Stephen Kenny has been waiting for the second round to happen because he knew some amazing talent was going to fall, and bargains would be had. Stephen recommends the Cowboys trading up in the second to take advantage of those bargains and he’s willing to trade his 2nd and 3rd round picks to get it done. Would you? He makes a pretty compelling argument:

One of those amazing talents still on the board is the pass-rushing phenomenon, Randy Gregory. Sport DFW writers are split as to whether the man’s talent trumps his character, but one thing they all agree on – is his immense talent:

The Dallas Cowboys still have an excess of needs heading into day two. With the top inside line backers still on the board, the Cowboys could make a play there. But Reid doesn’t think ILB is worth a 2nd round pick, considering all of the more pressing needs:

Still worried the Cowboys will find a way to screw this draft up? Fear not because Will McClay and Stephen Jones are controlling the War Room. Together with the “GM” Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett, the War Room is finally making good, consistent decisions:

That’s all for now as we head into Day 2 and make our 2nd and 3rd round selections. Be sure to follow Ryan on twitter who will be live tweeting the entire time. Want to what’s going on?
