Dallas Cowboys 7-Round Mock Draft: Cowboys Score Big
By Reid Hanson
Round 7, pick 246
Nate Theaker
Position: Offensive line
Height: 6’5” Weight: 315lbs
Won first-team all-conference award and named GLIAC offensive lineman of the Year
At Wayne State, Nate Theaker didn’t play against top competition, but he dominated who he played against. In his college career he’s played at right tackle, left tackle, and guard. Although most of his time was at tackle, most scouts are projecting him at guard because of his stiffer than ideal core movement.
Still, Theaker appears to be physically able enough to play in the NFL if he can shore up his hand skills and foot technique.

"“I don’t know if he’s a left tackle in the NFL,” his former offensive line coach Scott Wooster said. “He could be an emergency right tackle. He translates to guard or center, but you have to be able to play multiple positions. There’s no question he can play in the NFL.”"
Offensive linemen are enormous reaches at this point in the draft but Theaker has the size and will to get it done. He may not be an offensive tackle but he has versatility to potentially play tackle, guard, and center and that’s very valuable in a backup on game day.
Wrap-up
At the end of the day I am very pleased how things fell. Once again, this was a simulator that I did not manipulate. I didn’t run through this a dozen times, picking my favorite. This is a legitimate simulation. I would have liked another cornerback but was pleased I found a potential No 1 CB in the second round (despite the red flags).

I added three very talented pass-rushers, a safety, and a potential star at tight end. All in all, it was a good day and a heck of a haul for the Dallas Cowboys.
