You’ll note there wasn’t any quarterbacks in this list, other than the picture of Zach Terrell above. Terrell would have to compete with just about anyone else the Dallas Cowboys brought in for camp arms to be the third string QB. It is a very weak class for quarterbacks.

More from Cowboys Draft

There also wasn’t a lot of mid-round players featured. Guys like Pat Elflein could be considered in the 3rd or 4th as a lineman with the ability to be a starter or immediate backup. Someone like him wouldn’t quite be the typical “pet cat” as they are rated fairly high for a lot of teams and will come off the board quicker than most.

The players listed here other than Cohen would be nothing more than spot contributors or special teamers with a decent ability to either develop into a starter or add quality depth. There are a lot of these types of players throughout the draft and the hope is shedding some light on these types of players so fans can both get familiar with players in the draft, and hopefully find some gems of their own to follow.

Who are your “pet cat’s” in this draft? I am sure I will get a ton of Big 12 players and Texas natives, which is fine, but also who outside of the Texas football world are you watching? Let’s hear it below.
