A Gauntlet that awaits the Dallas Cowboys this season
By Walter Sharp
There’s a specific section of the Dallas Cowboys schedule you must be aware of
The final seven games could be what makes or breaks the Dallas Cowboys season this year. In that span the Cowboys play five primetime games against four playoff teams from a year ago. The Cowboys final seven games consist of Minnesota Vikings, Washington Football Team, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Giants.
This is why it is key for the Cowboys to get off to a fast start this season. The Cowboys need to be in a comfortable situation before entering this gauntlet.
Dallas has back-to-back Thursday night games this season. One on Thanksgiving against the Washington Football team and one on December 3rd against Baltimore Ravens. The key games to this seven game stretch are The 49ers, Ravens, and the final matchup against the Eagles.
The only road game out of those three games is the game against the Ravens. Having the 49ers and Eagles at home could be very beneficial for the Cowboys. The Cowboys will need to fire on all cylinders and not take any weeks off. They will have to make sure that they show up to play even against Washington, Cincinnati, and New York.
The Giants will be coming into the Week 17 matchup with the Cowboys to play spoilers. This is why it is important for the Cowboys to take care of business and clinch either a playoff berth, or the division before entering the game against the Giants.
The key to the last seven games is that the Cowboys will welcome the Eagles instead of heading to Philadelphia at the end of December. Dallas will want that home game against the Eagles to be the division clincher so when they travel to New York the following week starters may not have to play and risk injury.

Dallas needs to come out 4-3 in their last seven games. This gives them wins over Washington, Cincinnati, New York, and Philadelphia. There is a chance of the Cowboys beating the Minnesota Vikings and possibly the Baltimore Ravens.

It will be an interesting end to the season with these games. Having the Ravens on a Thursday night could play in the Cowboys favor. If the Cowboys can keep Lamar off the field, and do what the Titans did in the playoffs last year then it should be a win for the Cowboys. This part of the Cowboys schedule will also give Dak Prescott the opportunity to show Dallas that he is worth the money he wants after this season. If the Dallas Cowboys can come out of that stretch of games 5-2 or 6-1 then Dak will have proven something.
This would mean the Cowboys are in the playoffs and potentially hosting their first playoff game. If this were to happen then Dak’s deal is looking better for him this offseason. One thing for sure is that all Cowboy fans will be glued to the Television every week after their Bye week.
This should be a fun and interesting season and we are all looking forward to having football back in our lives!
