The Dallas Cowboys are entering the bye week after suffering a brutal home loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions in Week 6. Sitting at 3-3 following an underwhelming series of performances to start the season, the Cowboys have plenty of questions to answer if they want to be postseason contenders.

Some of those questions involve Mike McCarthy, playcalling duties, and the overall roster quality. Cowboys fans are desperately hoping for significant changes but they will unfortunately not going to get what they want per The Athletic's Jon Machota.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones revealed on 105.3 The Fan that the team is unlikely to make any coaching or personnel changes. Jones added that they think they have the right coaching staff and players in place.

Cowboys Fans Shouldn't Expect Big Changes

This is an absurd statement by the front office. If the Cowboys' top brass actually thought that McCarthy was the right head coach, they would have given him a contract extension in the offseason. Instead, they chose to put him in a lame-duck position and every Cowboys fan knows that he is gone after this season unless the team makes the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys currently have the 30th-ranked defense in the NFL. The Mike Zimmer hire completely backfired and the offense is nowhere near what it needs to be for this team to competitive.

There is a clear need for a running back upgrade and a wide receiver addition at the very least. Another high-level pass rusher would do wonders after the significant injuries to the defensive line. Yet it doesn't sound like those moves are coming any time soon, much to the frustration of the fanbase.
