Cowboys Get Excellent Injury Update on Two Key Starters
By Cem Yolbulan

The Dallas Cowboys are getting ready for a huge Week 6 clash against the Detroit Lions before their bye week. The bye week couldn't come at a better time as the Cowboys are dealing with serious injuries to multiple key players at the same time.
There was an expectation among the fanbase that the Cowboys may not risk some of the injured starters before bye week to give them extra time to heal. However, the latest reports out of Cowboys practice suggest that Dallas might be healthier than anticipated on Sunday.
First, Jerry Jones announced that rookie left tackle Tyler Guyton had a good chance to play against Detroit, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota. Then, Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com reported that star cornerback DaRon Bland will likely at least play "a limited role" on Sunday.

Guyton started at left tackle for the Cowboys in the first five games of the season. After suffering a knee injury against the Steelers, he missed the second half and Tyler Smith moved to left tackle. The first-round pick out of Oklahoma hasn't been amazing to start the season but it's a great sign for the Cowboys to have their offensive line intact against the Lions defense.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said Micah Parsons (ankle) is "close" to returning but he's "iffy" for Sunday against the Lions.

Even better news for the Cowboys, however, is the update on DaRon Bland. The All-Pro cornerback was placed on IR list before the season but was designated for return. He was given a 6-8 week return timeline at the end of August, so his return this week would be on the shorter end of the diagnosis.
In his second year in Dallas, Bland had a huge breakout season, finishing with nine interceptions and five touchdowns. With Trevon Diggs opposite him, the duo projects to be one of the best cornerback partnerships in the NFL.
