Cowboys Reveal Plan to Prepare Kicker While Serving Jury Duty

Cowboys fans received surprising news on Wednesday that kicker Brandon Aubrey missed practice after seemingly not having any injury concerns. It was later revealed that the talented kicker had jury duty, requiring him to be present in the court.
This naturally caused speculation about whether Aubrey would be able to suit up on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. On Thursday, ESPN's Todd Archer revealed that the Cowboys will make sure Aubrey did not miss the game.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said that Aubrey would get his practice in after his jury duties were over for the day. Fortunately for Dallas, the jury doesn't need to be sequestered in this case, allowing Aubrey to leave to practice and play. The kicker will travel to San Francisco and get back to Dallas on Monday morning after the game if the case continues.
Experts expect the case to be resolved in a few days. The third-degree domestic violence case in Tarrant County's 297th District Court has a 12-person jury, Aubrey being one of them.
The fact that Aubrey's civic duty will not last too long is great news for the Cowboys. The 29-year-old specialist is one of the best kickers in the league, converting a 65-yard field goal earlier in the season. He is currently 17/19 on field goal attempts and 9/9 on extra point attempts this season. Against the solid 49ers defense, the Cowboys need Aubrey to be at the top of his form.
