Cowboys Star Avoids Media Once Again After Embarrassing Week 11 Loss
By Cem Yolbulan
The Dallas Cowboys' season is continuing to spiral out of control. After five straight losses, the Cowboys are 3-7 and have no hopes of a postseason appearance.
When a team with Super Bowl aspirations implodes in this manner, it naturally takes a toll on the players. Micah Parsons, as one of the best players and leaders of the team, has been feeling the heat. Instead of focusing internally and trying to improve, however, he has been taking his frustrations out on the media.
After the Week 10 loss, the star defender had refused to talk to the media and said he would rather be fined. He continued this approach after the loss to the Texans, per Cowboys insider Nick Harris.
Cowboys News: Micah Parsons Avoids Media Once Again
While Parsons can be right about the media at times, this is not the solution to the Cowboys' problems. The media isn't the reason the Cowboys have the second-worst defensive unit in the league.
Instead of blaming the media for the team's struggles, Parsons has to look for ways to get this defense to a respectable place. Parsons missed games due to an injury for the first time in his career this season. But even when he has been available, he hasn't been his usual self. Through six games, he has three sacks, three tackles for loss, and eight QB hits.
Last season, Parsons had 14 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, and 33 QB hits in 17 games. While the All-Pro pass rusher is still playing at a very high level this season, he is boasting the lowest PFF grade of his career.
While his frustrations are understandable, Parsons needs to understand that the front office and the coaching staff are the ones to blame, not the media.
