Cowboys Starter Reveals Scary Injury Details in Surprise New Comments

The Dallas Cowboys won two straight games and are looking to extend their winning streak against the Bengals on Monday Night Football. Sitting at 5-7 for the season, they can't afford to lose any more games if they are trying to salvage their season and play meaningful football throughout December.
The back-to-back wins for Dallas came without their starting tight end Jake Ferguson. After the talented playmaker suffered a concussion against the Texans in Week 11, he missed the last two games. Earlier this week, he was cleared to play, and the 25-year-old is excited to return to action.
He may be thrilled to get back on the field now but there were some dark times during his recovery process. Per The Athletic's Jon Machota, the Pro Bowler tight end revealed scary details of his injury.
Concussions can manifest differently and have various effects on different people. It sounds like Ferguson went through it emotionally in the initial stages. Now that he is safely on the other side, he reflected on the difficult times.
"The first two days were bad. I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn't find my water bottle. I started crying. I hadn't cried like that since my dog died in middle school. I stopped and I was like, 'What the heck is wrong with me?'"

Ferguson reiterated his trust in the doctors and the staff in Dallas who helped him throughout the process.
Cowboys fans are thrilled to have their reliable weapon on the offensive side of the ball back. In Ferguson's absence, Luke Schoonmaker performed admirably, finishing with 14 catches, 144 yards, and a touchdown in three games. Ferguson will almost certainly get his starting role back but Schoonmaker should see more snaps going forward.
Ferguson is still looking for his first touchdown of the season and Cowboys fans are hoping it comes on Monday night.
