The Dallas Cowboys just suffered the most embarrassing loss of the season on Sunday as they fell 47-9 at home to the Lions. The three straight home losses naturally started discussions about the future of the coaching staff.

Mike McCarthy is currently in the fifth and final year of his contract with the team. The Cowboys won 12 games in each of the last three seasons before disappointing in the postseason. Before the 2024 season began, Jerry Jones decided to retain him without giving him a contract extension, officially putting McCarthy on the hot seat.

The 3-3 start with a few of the worst home losses in Cowboys history was certainly not the start McCarthy had in mind. With some Cowboys fans calling for the end of the McCarthy era, Dak Prescott came out in support of his head coach on Monday. The Athletic's Jon Machota reported that Prescott has complete faith in McCarthy and that he would go to war for him.
