The 2025 NFL offseason has been a rollercoaster ride, offering new opportunities to coaches and players alike. Several former Dallas Cowboys have landed fresh starts following Super Bowl 59, including former quarterback and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
After winning the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, the New Orleans Saints hired Moore as the 19th head coach in franchise history. The 36-year-old HC has since used his Cowboys connections to help flesh out his staff, hiring former pass game coordinator Chase Haslett as the tight ends coach while ex-QBs coach Scott Tolzien was brought in to handle the same role with the Saints.
As it turns out, Moore's isn't finished hiring former colleagues just yet.
Saints Hire Former Cowboys LB Kyle Wilber to Kellen Moore's Staff
On Monday morning, Saints insider Nick Underhill reported that Moore has added former Cowboys linebacker Kyle Wilber to his coaching staff. The ex-2012 fourth-round selection spent a decade playing in the NFL and will be joining the Saints as an assistant special teams coordinator.

It's going to be interesting to see if Wilber will have a positive impact after the Saints finished with Pro Football Focus' seventh-worst special teams grade (70.3) last season. For comparison, the Green Bay Packers — who employed him as a special teams quality control coach — finished with the league's worst mark in that regard (58.5).
Nevertheless, some coaches just aren't the right fit for teams and it remains to be seen what Wilber can do on Moore's staff. The Orlando, FL native spent the majority of his NFL career playing big special teams snaps for the Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders, resulting in 104 solo tackles, six fumble recoveries, and four forced fumbles in 135 appearances.
It was during his playing career when Wilber met Moore. The duo were Cowboys teammates for three seasons and both left the franchise following the 2017 campaign as Wilber moved on to the Raiders while Moore began his coaching career the ensuing season.
It's safe to say that the staff Moore is building has grabbed Dallas fans' attention. Having said that, the fanbase must wait for a reunion as the Cowboys and Saints aren't slated to face each other during the 2025 regular season.
