Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Ben DiNucci has bounced around the league after his failed tenure with Dallas. The quarterback's career hit a roadblock when the New Orleans Saints opted to cut the veteran quarterback. This was par for the course for a player who has spent time in the XFL as well as making stops in New Orleans, Denver, and Buffalo. Luckily for DeNucci, the quarterback didn't have to wait long to find another opportunity after the latest setback.
With rookie minicamps now underway, DiNucci was listed for another NFC South team as a surprise attendee.
The former Cowboy is in the Atlanta Falcons camp looking to win a reserve role. Considering Atlanta's current depth chart at the position, it isn't completely off the table DiNucci could win the third quarterback role in Atlanta.

Ben DiNucci Could Find Himself a Surprise Home Behind Michael Penix Jr. and Kirk Cousins on the Falcons
The Falcons did bring in former Charger Easton Stick in a late free agency signing. However, the team isn't locked into the contract; they can easily escape from their deal with Stick if DiNucci proves to be a cheaper and more reliable answer. Atlanta remains stuck with Kirk Cousins as a historically-paid backup and will look to save everywhere else possible. Second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is the unquestioned starter who the franchise appears to believe is the answer they have been searching for since parting ways with Matt Ryan.
In Dallas, it is a fun continuation of an underdog story that had simply run its course for the Cowboys. Dak Prescott remains firmly entrenched as the team's starter with Will Grier and Joe Milton as the fallback options. Milton is especially exciting after flashing his potential in the final regular season game for the Patriots in the 2024 season.
The Cowboys' trading for Milton was a clear insurance move in case Dak Prescott continues to deal with injuries. The team's recent addition of George Pickens further helps set up the offense if disaster were to strike again.
With all of this in mind, DiNucci remains firmly in the past for Dallas. A player who simply wasn't able to take advantage of his opportunity. Still, the quarterback finding a way to stick on Atlanta's roster as the third option would be a great story the Cowboys would welcome, even after turning the page.
