Dallas Cowboys fans can't wait for the 2024 NFL campaign to end. America's Team has struggled to live up to the moniker all season and the franchise's disastrous performance reached a new low with Week 11's 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans beneath the Monday Night Football spotlight.

As usual, the Cowboys fanbase was curious to hear what owner/general manager Jerry Jones had to say after the team's fifth straight defeat. But instead of being a calming presence for his team's supporters, the eccentric billionaire only raised more confusion with his latest soundbite.

Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Shares 3 Biggest Concerns

Following the loss, Jones was asked by reporters if he's concerned about his players' effort amid the Cowboys' growing slump. Although the 82-year-old owner isn't questioning his team's competitiveness, he did reveal three of his biggest worries.

"I worry a lot about execution," Jones told Cowboys insider Jon Machota. "I worry a lot about having two people in the same spot on routes. I worry a lot about all that stuff."

"But guys giving the effort out? You don’t need to worry about anybody in that locker room giving everything they got and more."

While such a statement would be calming from another owner, it just doesn't work when those words are flowing from Jones' mouth. Everything about the Cowboys' 2024 performance — from the on-field results to coaching decisions — should be concerning, especially when it was a season where the franchise was supposed to go "all in" to end the Super Bowl drought.

For starters, Jones should be worried about his team's execution. Not only does the Cowboys' 3-7 record prove that they have failed to execute on the gridiron, but Jones' managerial execution isn't exactly spectacular after he failed to add any legitimate impact players in the offseason.

As for Jones' other two concerns — offensive line communication and route-running —, those aren't exactly issues that should be at the top of those list. While it's fine to be somewhat worried about those issues, those problems should be the head coach's responsibility. If Jones is unsatisfied with that area, perhaps he needs to start considering Mike McCarthy's replacement

And even though he tried to minimize it, the Cowboys players' effort should be concerning to Jones. Outside of a few moments against the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons, the Cowboys have rarely looked competitive amid their five-game slide, which began over a month ago.

Unless Jones takes a long look in the mirror and identifies his own shortcomings, nothing is going to change in Dallas. The Cowboys owner/GM clearly believes he's the smartest man in the Lone Star State and isn't interested in admitting that his methods — which have failed for nearly three decades — are the only way to bring the Lombardi Trophy home.

Until his mindset changes, the list of concerns among the fanbase will only grow longer.

In the meantime, we'll see if the Cowboys can compete as well as Jones believes they can when the Washington Commanders host America's Team in Week 12. It's shaping up to be a lopsided NFC East clash as the Commanders are currently the 10.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook.
