The Dallas Cowboys are an underwhelming 3-4 heading into Week 9. With games against the Falcons, Eagles, and the Texans coming up, things could get really ugly soon for the Cowboys.
Unless they make a big trade before the November 5 deadline.
Most Cowboys fans aren't expecting much from their frustrating front office. Despite an obvious need on both ends of the field, the Cowboys have stood pat so far, watching the team suffer a blowout after blowout.
Perhaps that may be changing before Tuesday, however. In his latest appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jerry Jones teased a potential trade deadline move.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones when asked on @1053thefan about the possibility of Dallas doing something significant before next week's trade deadline: "If I see something ... we look for all the meat on the bone that can improve our team."

When asked about it, Jones didn't rule out the possibility, per The Athletic's Jon Machota. The more interesting part came when he was asked whether there was a trade he could make that could steal all the headlines on Election Day.
Question posed on @1053thefan to Jerry Jones: “Is there a trade you can make that can steal all of the headlines on Election Day?”

Jerry gave a hearty laugh, thought about it, then answered.
“Yes.”#DallasCowboys
At this point, the fanbase knows Jones all too well. The Cowboys owner is willing to say anything for clicks. He doesn't shy away from making promises and teasing transactions without the intention of ever fulfilling them. This is the same man who promised to go "all-in" before the season and brought back Ezekiel Elliott as the main offseason acquisition.
It is obvious that the Cowboys need upgrades in various positions, including wide receiver, running back, and the pass rush. They have been ravaged by injuries and have taken no steps to address their lack of depth. The trade deadline is their last chance to do so, but Cowboys fans shouldn't get their hopes up despite Jones' latest remarks.
