New Cowboys WR Shows He's Thrilled About George Pickens Trade

After going through free agency and the NFL Draft without adding a wide receiver, the Dallas Cowboys finally made their highly anticipated move on Wednesday by trading for George Pickens from the Steelers. Dallas now has one of the best one-two punches in the league with CeeDee Lamb and Pickens, and should feel good about becoming a high-octane offense once again.

The rest of the Cowboys' wide receiver corps, however, still has a ton of uncertainty. Jalen Tolbert is presumably locked in as the WR3, and KaVontae Turpin likely showed enough flashes last season to justify a roster spot. The rest of the spots in the WR room may be up for grabs.

Despite the crowded WR room and upcoming training camp competition, one new Cowboys receiver couldn't be happier that Pickens joined the team.

Cowboys Rookie WR Can't Hide His George Pickens Excitement

Traeshon Holden, the undrafted free agent wide receiver the Cowboys recently signed, took to social media to signal his excitement about the Pickens trade.

The 23-year-old receiver spent his first three collegiate years at Alabama before transferring to Oregon after the 2022 season. He spent two seasons with the Ducks, registering 82 catches for 1,170 yards and 11 touchdowns in 27 games.

Even though the Cowboys didn't invest in the wide receiver room in free agency or the draft, Holden will have to beat out multiple pass-catchers to even make the practice squad.

Jonathan Mingo, despite being a major disappointment last season, is still on the team, and the Cowboys will likely prioritize him after giving up draft capital to acquire him at the trade deadline. Parris Campbell recently joined the team, and 2023 draft pick Jalen Brooks is still looking for his opportunity in Dallas. Who among these players will impress during the OTAs and training camp to make the active roster remains to be seen.
