The Dallas Cowboys have had a less-than-desirable offseason. After being bounced in the first round of the postseason last year, the fanbase hoped the team would put their best foot forward to rebuild this squad.

That hasn't been the case as the Cowboys had an underwhelming offseason. They have stars like Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons seeking long-term deals but none of them have secured that.

All players had to report to Oxnard, California on Thursday for training camp but Lamb is holding out as he looks for an extension.

That isn't what you want from your star player but it sounds like things could get even worse.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini appeared on the Scoop City podcast and gave a glooming update on the negotiations between Lamb and the Cowboys.

"CeeDee Lamb is going to demand the money he thinks he's worth. So he's holding out. From having conversations, I don't see this getting ironed out over the next few days. I think this is something we're going to see leading into next week, maybe even the week after. This isn't one of those situations where I'm getting vibes, signs, positive attitude from both sides. It just seems like it's a challenge for the Dallas Cowboys to get there."

Earlier this week, Stephen Jones said that Lamb and Parsons both want to be the highest-paid non-QBs in the NFL.

And you can't blame them. Lamb has been a superstar in Dallas and is one of the best receivers in the league. He's recorded 1,000 yards in three straight campaigns and is coming off the best season of his career.

In 2023, Lamb had career-highs in targets (181), receptions (135), receiving yards (1,749), and touchdowns (12).

The WR market has blown up with Justin Jefferson being the highest-paid WR getting $35 million annually.

Lamb is certainly deserving of a massive deal but it may take some time until both sides agree to it.
