Cowboys Already Preparing Excuses in Case of Week 4 Loss
By Cem Yolbulan
The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for a crucial Week 4 matchup against the New York Giants. In the Thursday Night Football showdown, the Cowboys will try to avoid falling to 1-3 before a tough slate of games. After the Giants matchup, Dallas is set to play the Steelers, Lions, 49ers, Falcons, Eagles, and Texans in that order.
While the team is getting ready for the MetLife Stadium outing, the Cowboys' PR department is already making excuses in case of a loss. According to NFL reporter Ed Werder, the Cowboys released a statement saying that this will be the first time they play a Thursday night game on the road.
Cowboys Already Making Excuses Before Thursday Night Football
This is a surprising stat, to say the least. As Werder pointed out, every other NFL team has played at least six road games on only three days of rest.
Regardless of the rest situation, the Cowboys need to beat the Giants to have a chance to contend in the NFC East. New York got their first win of the season on the road against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. They will look to build momentum at home with a second straight win but they haven't looked particularly convincing so far in any of their games.
Despite the fact that the Cowboys are preparing their excuses before a potential loss, they are significant favorites ahead of Thursday. On FanDuel Sportsbook, Dallas is a 5.5-point favorite and has -250 odds to win.
