Cowboys fans finally got what they wished for all offseason. Ezekiel Elliott is once again a Dallas Cowboy. And it looks like the fans aren't the only ones excited about the reunion.

In his first statement about the Cowboys re-signing the star running back, Dak Prescott couldn't contain his excitement. According to Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News, Prescott is thrilled to have his offensive weapon and friend back with the team, especially highlighting his positive impact on the locker room.

Cowboys News: Dak Prescott Excited to Have Zeke Back

Praising Zeke about the "way he goes about his business on the field", Prescott believes three-time Pro Bowler rusher will set an excellent example to the other players.

And Prescott's words should be taken seriously when it comes to Elliott. The two were drafted in the same draft; Elliott with the fourth overall pick and Prescott in the fourth round. They spent seven seasons together, battling in multiple playoff games. Coming up short year in year out brought the two stars together.

Despite his postseason struggles, Prescott continues to be one of the most dominant offensive players in the NFL as he finished second in MVP voting last year.

Elliott, on the other hand, isn't the force he used to be in his younger days. He had a down season with the New England Patriots last year, averaging career-low yards per carry. However, he was able to rediscover his impact on the passing game, finishing with 51 catches, 313 yards, and two touchdowns. This could prove to be very valuable for Prescott next season.

Under a familiar head coach and behind a familiar signal-caller, Elliott will look to bounce back in 2024. Even if he is not his All-Pro self, he should be a massive plus in the locker room like Prescott predicts.
