Cowboys fans rejoice, we finally have our running back and things are looking up for the first time since the start of the offseason. Only two days after Ezekiel Elliott signed a one-year deal he is already with the team, putting in the work.

In the social media post by the official account of the Dallas Cowboys, Zeke is seen in good spirits, working out with trainers and teammates.

Cowboys News: Ezekiel Elliott Already Looking Thrilled To Be Back

Elliott is looking for a bounce-back season after he struggled in New England last year. Despite playing in every game, he averaged a career-low 3.5 yards per carry, finishing with 3 touchdowns and 642 yards. He was effective in the passing game, adding 313 yards and 2 scores, but he was certainly not the Pro Bowl-caliber rusher he was earlier in his Cowboys career.

The Cowboys are hoping that that was a result of the dysfunctional Patriots offense. Playing for a quarterback and a head coach he knows so well, Elliott still has a chance to look much better in a Cowboys jersey than he did in Foxborough.

This reunion can be seen as a marriage of convenience. Both sides desperately need one another. The Cowboys had failed to sign or draft any running back of consequence, leaving them with a skeleton crew of Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn, and Royce Freeman. Elliott, on the other hand, is similarly looking to revive his career and reach his goal of making the Super Bowl.

Hopefully, this reunion works out for both sides. As things stand now, the vibes in Dallas are good and the Cowboys will hope it extends to the start of the regular season.
